Blacks: Identity Blind

This will be greatly known by historians but I will try to break it down for you.

 

Many, many decades ago, the Dutch (before being known as “Afrikaner”) were colonizing the African continent. They were in power and Dutch was the medium of instruction. They forced in even on blacks. Then came the whites, which were the British missionaries. They managed to take control and also colonize Africa. They came here for the raw materials and wanted to overthrow the Dutch. With power, they managed to do so. Blacks were then forced to go to missionary schools where they were taught in English. Some had their names anglicized ( changed to either sound English or be English. The process of Anglicization took place. Everything was English and to gain more power, the white British missionaries used Christianity to lure the blacks to be Christian, Anglicized and powerless.

Yes, the Bible was introduced as a scheme to get the currency or money off the blacks and they were told it is the good way to get to heaven, The British colonies had great impact on the world, hence Christianity became the grand religion around the world. Then there was “AFRIKANER REVOLUTION”. The Dutch/Afrikaners did the trekkers and all to fight for their power back. They got it and there was apartheid in South Africa. In all of this, imagine the position of the blacks.

HERE IT GOES:

The blacks always fought for their identity. Even though they were forced to succumb to all policies and way of the system ruling, there has been always resistance from the black people. Even when they were called monkeys and all, they knew their identity. They knew they were human. There were proud of being black and they were proud of their different cultures. There were activists like Steve Biko who fought for blacks identity and instilled a sense of self-pride. It worked. All the attempts fight for freedom became successful. We now live in a free and mostly democratic country!

But we face a problem greater than all, Black people losing pride in how they are and losing their identity.

Modernization led to black people abandoning their cultures and traditional practices. It got so serious that black “Christians” now hate who they are and call their forefathers demons and evil spirits. Something even the white people don’t do. They overdid it and now they live a life they think of being the “whites life”. Black people Anglicize their names and surnames, forge English accents and live fake lives just to seem modern. They even bleach their skins just to look white and pretty. They don’t see black as beautiful anymore. They don’t even love their full figures and butts, they reduce therm to be “swim-suit material”.

 

Question is: Where is the black pride the Black Panthers, Black Movement, Black Consciousness and all the other political parties fought for?  Are we headed to a fake “white future” we blacks created, with no culture and tradition?

 

I, myself, Anglicized my name. So, I take no side. I am also part of the doom and contribute to it. That’s the sad part. We know the truth but we still keep living a lie.
